The cause of death of Tina Turner‘s musician son, Ronnie Turner, has been revealed.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical-Examiner Coroner, the Ronnie died last week from complications of metastatic colon cancer – a diagnosis he reportedly revealed just three weeks before his death. He was 62.
The report as obtained by People revealed the cancer was Stage 4. The files also revealed that at the time of his passing, Ronnie suffered from atherosclerosis heart disease, which is a buildup or hardening of fats and cholesterol in the arteries.

It was on December 8 that emergency services were called to Ronnie’s home in LA’s San Fernando Valley, with the caller telling authorities the musician was outside their home and having a hard time breathing.
Despite attempts by paramedics to revive him, Ronnie died at the scene. In the coroner’s report, his place of death was listed as “sidewalk.”
Turner, 83, has science paid tribute to her son with an emotional post shared on Instagram.
“Ronnie, you left the world far too early. In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son,” she wrote alongside a solemn portrait of herself.

This is the second time in four years Turner’s family has been struck by tragedy. In 2018, the singer’s eldest son Craig died by suicide at age 59. In 2007, the family also lost their father Ike Turner, while his aunt, Tina’s sister Alline Bullock, died in 2010.
Ronnie’s wife, the French singer Afida Turner, also shared a tribute to her late husband in a series of posts, while referencing the other death in the family.
“I did the best to the end this time I was no[t] able to save you. Love you for… 17 years this is very very very bad and I am very mad,” she wrote in one caption. “This is a tragedy u with your brother Craig and your father Ike Turner and Aline rest in paradise… So unfair.”
