The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert was the ultimate road trip movie in 1994 involving the Aussie outback, a flashy tour bus named Priscilla, two drags queens, and a transgender woman.
The trio travel from Sydney to Alice Springs in the Northern Territory to perform a residency show at a local pub, where they encounter both bigotry and acceptance.
The low-budget film went on to win Best Costume Design at the 1995 Oscars, thanks to the over-the-top costumes.
