When Rivera failed to return the boat on time, staff found it on the north side of the lake with young Josey sleeping in his life jacket on board.
The Glee star was unable to be located for five days before her body was found on July 13. Later, an autopsy confirmed that her cause of death was an accidental drowning. Authorities also determined that Rivera likely saved her son’s life by putting him back on board the boat before drowning herself.
