Mercedes took the wraps off the 2024 GLE and, in this case, the AMG GLE coupe.

Updating the latest edition of the luxury performance in the midst of its current run reflects just how hotly contested the segment is these days. Performance and technology blend in a top-flight combination of luxury transportation.

New Mercedes GLE for 2024

The GLE is looking to put more power behind the pedal by offering an electrified the powertrain throughout the model range, including the new GLE 400 e 4Matic plug-in hybrid, in addition to mild hybrids with a 48-volt system and Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), which certainly helps.

The exterior continues its evolution with a more upright look overall but softer angles aiming to give the SUV “a distinctly more modern appearance,” according to the automaker. The new front bumper provides more visual presence, while standard LED High-Performance headlamps complement the distinctive daytime running light design.

New model year generally means more standard goodies and the 2024 version of the AMG GLE 53 is no exception.

So often it’s on the interior where Mercedes shines and this version is no different. Again moving toward a more modern aesthetic, the GLE uses a new steering wheel with sensor surfaces on the horizontal spokes. The interior is also elevated by the chrome finish of the center and side air vents — once only found in the Mercedes-Maybach GLS.

The look isn’t the only part of the interior getting a touch up as the new model uses the second generation MBUX infotainment system. Numerous vehicle and comfort functions can be controlled on the infotainment screens in brilliant display views.

Since it is an SUV, making it ready to head off the tarmac is important and the 2024 GLE gets an Off-Road Mode in the MBUX display. It provides special content such as gradient, roll angle, compass and steering angle and “turns it into a visual experience.” In conjunction with the optional Parking Package with 360-degree camera, it also offers the “transparent hood” function.

The GLE is looking to put more power behind the pedal by offering an electrified the powertrain throughout the model range.

New tech features for towing include the Trailer Route Planner for the navigation system, camera-based extended Trailer Maneuvering Assist, and available Steering Assist in towing mode.

AMG GLE for 2024

Mercedes‑AMG is upgrading its GLE SUV and GLE Coupe model range for 2024.

The AMG GLE gets designed LED daytime running lights, making it distinctly recognizable from the crowd. The front fascia now bears the AMG emblem on the front hood of the vehicle — the new hallmark for all future AMG vehicles. GLE 53 models also receive a revised front fascia with expressively shaped side air intakes in an inspired jet wing design.

New model year generally means more standard goodies and the 2024 version of the AMG GLE 53 is no exception. It receives the selectable AMG Performance exhaust system, MBUX Augmented Reality for Navigation, Memory Package, Parking Assistance Package, leather upholstery, and heated and ventilated front seats.

The new Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV plug-in hybrid travels about 30 miles in battery-only mode.

Newly standard features for GLE 63 S models include the Air Balance Package, multi-contour front seats and head-up display.

Like their less performance-oriented siblings new Mercedes‑AMG GLE models also get the latest generation of MBUX. The AMG-specific screen design makes the brand experience even more immediate.

With the help of a software update and a larger turbocharger, the AMG development team increased the maximum torque of the GLE 53 models from 384 lb-ft to 413 lb-ft. Acceleration from 0-60 mph is also more dynamic at 4.9 seconds (previously 5.2 seconds).

Fine-tuning of the software for the configuration of the ESP, electronically controlled rear‑axle limited-slip differential, fully variable AMG Performance 4Matic+ all‑wheel drive and the suspension control system delivers a dynamic and superior driving experience for all models. No pricing information was offered, but the 2023 GLE 350 SUV starts at $57,700 before delivery fees and the AMG GLE Coupe starts at $81,200.
