Jimmy Barnes has shared an update on his recovery with his fans after undergoinggruelling back and hip surgery.
The Aussie rocker shared some cheerful snaps to Facebook this week to share some of his recovery milestones.
“Can cycle for 10 minutes from today. Small gains. Have to be patient, that’s a tough one for me,” he wrote alongside a photo of him smiling while sitting on an exercise bike.

A day earlier, the Scottish-born singer shared another photo of himself on a walk with the aid of his cane.
“Thanks for cheering me on everyone. Sticking to the recovery program to the letter. It’s been three weeks and Jane my strict Physio has got me out walking up the road. Off heavy pain meds. I’ve turned a big corner,” he wrote.
Barnes was forced to cancel multiple Aussie shows in 2023 to undergo the urgent surgeryto relieve chronic pain.

“As much as it kills me, I have to get this fixed so I can jump around onstage for the next 50 years. I’ll see you when I come back,” he said at the time of making the announcement in late November.
One of the first updates post-surgery came from his daughter, who shared a photo of her famous father in his hospital bed.
“Hey everyone it’s @ellymaybarnes, my dadda is out of surgery and awake. The doctors are very happy… Thanks for all the well wishes,” she shared.

Barnes was able to return home just before Christmas, to spend the festive season with his family.
”I’m home. In a bit of pain but happy. Thank you everybody for all the support. I’ll be the guy taking it very easy over Christmas,” he shared on Twitter in December.
“There’s no place like home. Legs are recovering in a room with a view,” he added.
