BRIT Awards 2023: Harry Styles and Wet Leg leads nominations

Harry Styles and British band Wet Leg are leading the nominations for this year’s BRIT Awards, scoring four nods each.

The former One Direction star is up for Album of the Year for Harry’s House, Song of the Year for As It Was, Artist of the Year and Best Pop/R&B Act at the UK’s answer to the ARIA Awards.

However, one of Styles’ nominations has caused controversy after only men were nominated in the gender-neutral Artist of the Year category.

Sam Smith, who is currently Down Under in Australia, will go up against Styles in two of the same categories – with the singer scoring nominations for Best Pop/R&B Act and Song of the Year alongside Kim Petras for the hit Unholy.
